" Monitoring has previously been done by looking at raw data trends and for a few engineers by using python.
The Seeq method is more visual and available for more engineers – it also allows for simple scaling. “

Use case deep dive: Reactor Modeling in SEEQ
The initial request
I have a theoretical model to calculate the Reactor conversion, how can I add this gamma function to Formula?
Mix of 2 - 5 types of solids Raw Materials planning Different particle sizes
Chemicals recipe + Reactor mech. properties
Pull data from SEEQ & Load from Excel sheets
Calculate PSD for each individual type and final
mix
Apply to 4 theoretical models
LIMS Historian
Create a local Asset Tree for all 4 models and intermediate results
Apply a forecast based on planning & current recipe
Model parameters still needed fitting
Conversion output was not stable
Pretreatment active at certain periods
Challenges
Fitting the Models
I prepared a condition for you that contains all capsules the model should be fitted to
#CSV upload
#Manual condition
#Chain view
#AI Assistant: Action agent
#Average details
Select chain mode to only filter on the ideal fitting period + use the Avg column to find the delta signal closest to 0
Solids Pretreatment tests
This is our test Reactor and we performed various tests across the year and pretreated certain solids, can you adapt the code so it adjusts the recipe and formula ?
Create a new ‘Real value’ signal based on the 2 versions and the Pretreatment being active or not (when condition is active, you see the pretreated orange value being taken, otherwise the blue normal value)
#Formula splice()
Various Prompts to get a 2nd flow of data transformation => Get a pretreated conversion result
Variance in measured Conversion: Shift team condition
© Tessenderlo Group
The operator teams rotate on a fixed schedule:
Solution: create a “Team signal” and assign this value as a property to each shift condition
We notice the lab sample procedure is not always performed correctly in certain teams, can we filter these out to fit again ?
Variance in measured Conversion: Shift team condition
© Tessenderlo Group
Approach: • Create a Team signal with timestamp and team name to upload as a CSV file into workbench as a Step signal • Use Co-pilot or SEEQ Data Lab to generate these values by writing a clear prompt
Same result
Variance in measured Conversion: Shift team condition
© Tessenderlo Group
Condition with Shift property + Team property
How:
Advantage: See immediately which team was active during a certain event or track team KPI’s and identify need for extra support/training
#CSV upload
#formula Shifts()
#condition properties
Create a local Asset Tree
© Tessenderlo Group
1. Push the Models calculated signals to a local Workbook as raw signals 2. Save the pushed signals names and ID’s into Excel file 3. Create the Asset Tree layers and adjust Friendly name if needed to enable swapping feature in Workbench
# spy.push
# spy.assets.tree
Enabling Swap feature
© Tessenderlo Group
Easier navigation & allow swapping from one asset/model to another
Summary
Scipy Python library to deal with complex math problem
SEEQ Data Lab to run python and transform data & process
models
…One step closer to Process Super Intelligence
Next Steps
Generate Shift Team signal
Workbench tools to fit the models
Workbench to interact with SME’s
Asset Tree for easy navigation and model swapping
Expand Python code to a Tool with UI so Operations can look for the best Mix/Quality configuration
Pick, Fit and tune model
GenAI turned the impossible into reality
